Yeahh she bugs me a little too...she obviously is insecure and doesn't have any experiance as a teacher.

She's not even being mean, its just what she thinks is best to do, she's a first year teacher in a small town where the 1st graders shouldn't be able to read and the fact that Scout can read kind of throws her for a loop. She doesn't know what to do, and she is from the South too, just the part where the Republicans are.
I think Miss Caroline isnt the best charcter in the book but I think she is trying her best to get used to the way things are in MayComb County. Think about someone who had moved to Branson...how do you think they will feel? Espicially if they came from a small school and a place where they don't have all the tourism and all the attractions like we do in Branson... just think about it...I know I would be nervous like crazy if I moved to a bigger school....
One yes she is a new teacher but you don't a student to not excell and try to make them dumb. A teachers job is to reduce ignorance not encourage it.

There's nothing wrong with being from the south,and nobody is using it as an excuse. And she is not a NAZI. She is a fine teacher that's just using some newer methods of teaching. And I'm sorry if something she does offends you, but quit worring about her she isn't really in the book.
Princess why are you defending Caroline. She is not being a good teacher and she should already know not to make students more ignorant.
yeah, I am going to state my opinion and leave it at that: I dont like Mrs. Caroline, i think she is to strict and inforces rules and such thats not a big deal.
i agree with princess, she is trying her best at what she does. but not in the right way.
she bugs me a little, just for the fact that she is frightened that a little kid might be to smart for her.

So Miss Caroline is definitely not my favorite character. She seems somewhat controlling, like she wants her way or the highway, can you say ANNOYING! She is just not a good teacher. She just needs to change her ways, then possibly I would like her. Nice post =)
Amen Durti Denae-nea! She is an insensitive mean teacher and I don't like her at all. If she would just see that in her heart I am sure there is a nice lady just waiting to come out...I'm sure we would all like her much better
