I think that is just a coincidence.
Maybe its kind of symbolic of how important news and newspapers really are. Especially today, when people use the internet and belive anything that's out there.
Well either it is a coincidence or it just shows that he likes to read...?
HaHa Yeah this is true. But actuallyit entions how atticus is a reader when they go through the whole atticus-dosen't-do-anything-and-is-old stage.
Atticus is an intellectual. Of course he is going to read; it's like his motif.
I doubt it is just a coincidence every book that i have read if it uses something repititive and puts it as the last phrase of a chapter it normally has something very important about it.
um yah...totally didn't notice that...i think thats ur imagination...u must over think thing because i dont think it means anything....
And yes it does show that Atticus likes to read.
yes.... there is a word for that..
Yeah i agree. You could be overthinking it...
Maybe there will be a chapter at the climax when he isn't reading (speculation).
Igor it has importance and you cant say its just my imagination it just means that I read a lot more books than you do or that I read more books with things like that.
how do u know what books i read????
yeah...i think symbolism is retared. for example..."hmmm why is atticus alway's reading?"
answer- I DONT KNOW MAYBE BECUASE THE MAN LIKES TO READ!
symbolic...i think not.
this blog is getting very unprofessional...
Will you people think outside the box. this what the entire blog is about is to make you think about things you may not have noticed.
It might be symbolic. (For what I have no idea.)
i dont think so. whats the point of blogging...to release your innermost feelings. Thats simply what we are doing. Would you rather me lie and say "oh why yes, symbolism is a key factor or common literature today! i most definatly agree."....no
that would be a lie.
I could tell you one thing it may be FORESHADOWING but not if i am going to be uneducatedly argued with.
oh wait the ladies in the convent wouldnt like that very much.
Lonelywolf, I don't think that is the correct use of bias.
Atticus reading might be a symbol for the necessity of knowledge and tolerance.
I think you stand alone lonelywolf...
I think he means biased. (LW I've got your back on this one!)
Daydream the definition for bias is close minded thinking and not going wiht other peoples thoughts . This is what most of this class does.
i would have to totally agree with you charliesangels! haha
Or maybe he just likes to read and gain knowledge and learn the correct use of the word biased.
i agree with princess, but it could also just be a coincidence.
:)
No. I don't go with the flow. I go with how i think. I think that Atticus reading the newspaper is not that important. Its how i think, and it just so happens that alot of people feel the same way
Hey, I didnt tell them to think like me
Charliesangels thats exactly my point you are biased and need to learn to see things from other points of view.
That comment was meant for lonelywolf, not for you.
okay. i am sorry daydream believer. I thought you were talking to me. But yes i agree with you!!!!
Isn't calling someone else biased as compared to yourself a biased statement?...
Daydream the only other opinion said was the biased thing that there is no meaning. They are not thinking at all.
It could be thinking. Not everything has a deep philosophical meaning. Stop overthinking it.
Lonelywolf YOU should freakin see things from another point of view! Like your perfect!
Im the only one that is.. HOLY mary...
I dont see your name being holywolf now do I!
after reading this entirely too long and completely ridiculous blog i have come to the conclusion that you people are maen and we all have opinions and you should agree to disagree. even i do think some of us are being immature. every author has a meaning for what they right, it is the job of the reader to get from it what they need to get from it. nuff said.
Its things like this that make me think about the movie Back to School where Mr. Melon has Kurt Vonnegut write his report on Kurt Vonnegut's book and the teacher says, "Whoever wrote this report knows nothing about Kurt Vonnegut."
The moral of the story: Stop overcomplicating trivial things. It makes my head hurt.
No one is putting another point of view. Fine here lets do this...
(only other view) There is no meaning to it. Lonelywolf is just overthinking. I am always right...
There is the other point of view.
Thank you mountain goat.
omg lonelywolf you can just cry me a freakin' river! why do you think that you need to have someone on your side that's not ignorate!!!!!
KUDOS to bookworm and amen to lonelywolf!!
amen wall_e...ur totally right :)
wall_E just made a fool of yourself.
you just asked lonelywolf why he needed someone on his side who was not ignorant.... wow. Thank you?
Walle, few people are on my side because they are just going with what their friends are saying.
And yes i know who most of you are and you probably know who i am.
Pure ignorance. arrg
Ok children. Stop the petty arguing.
how bout we all love <3 each other!! ELE
Ignorance is the lack of knowledge. Stupidity is having knowledge and choosing not to use it.
